WHAT IS THE CAMM?
Craven Academy of Modern Music is a contemporary music school offering a range of courses and programs designed to nurture and develop musical talent for individuals of all ages and abilities.

WHERE IS THE ACADEMY LOCATED?
We are currently based at the Craven Arts House, Otley Street, Skipton, BD23 1ET. You can find detailed directions and a map on the 'Contact Us' page.

DO YOU NEED TO BRING AN INSTRUMENT?
There are instruments you can use at the academy ad we will always offer advice on the best equipment to purchase for the stage the student is at on their musical journey.

WHAT TYPES OF SESSIONS DO YOU OFFER?
We offer students the opportunity to learn an instrument in a band setting. We allow students to explore the different instruments before settling on the one that they are most drawn to. The instruments to choose from are guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals. We also host occasional workshops on music production and songwriting.

HOW DO YOU BOOK A SESSION?
You can book using the online booking system to see what sessions are available. You can also call the contact number to speak to a teacher about which session would most suit the needs of the student.

ARE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES FOR BOOKING ON TO A SESSION?
None. Complete beginners are strongly encouraged to join these sessions. Students may be moved to a different depending on their ability and musical tastes.

WHAT IF THE STUDENT IS UNSURE ABOUT WHILE INSTRUMENT THEY WOULD LIKE TO LEARN?
We always allow the students to explore all of the options available before settling on the instrument of their choice.

WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE FOR STUDENTS?
Our courses are designed for all age groups, from children (age 4 and up) to adults.

WHAT ARE THE TUITION FEES?
Music & Play (Ages 4-7) is £14 per child for the 45 min session. All other band sessions are £16 per student for the hour session.

HOW DO YOU PAY?
Payment is paid in advance in half-termly blocks. This guarantees the student’s slot in the band. Payment is made by bank transfer to the ‘Tune Up Education’ bank account.

DO YOU OFFER ANY PAYMENTS PLANS OR FINANCIAL AID?
Yes, we offer flexible payment plans (monthly direct debit). We also offer a discount for siblings (25% off for the second child, 50% off for the third, fourth etc.).
We also run a ‘Sponsor a Child In Music’ Campaign which allows us to support children from low-income families by offering part-scholarship. This relies on funding from our fundraising events which are hosted every term.

WHEN DO LESSONS TAKE PLACE?
From September 2024, sessions will take place on weekday evenings. Performances take place at weekends.
